People often ask, “What does Mikrokosmos mean?” or “How do you even pronounce it?” So I thought it was time to share the story behind the name one that is a little unexpected, but deeply meaningful to me.
When I first started my business, the common advice was to choose a name that was simple, memorable, and immediately recognisable. Instead, I chose something a little different—something unique, distinctive, and filled with personal meaning.
The name Mikrokosmos (micro cosmos), came to me during a time when I was discovering new music and ideas that really resonated. One song in particular, Mikrokosmos, stood out. I found myself returning to it again and again not just because of how it sounded, but because of what it represented.
At its heart, Mikrokosmos reflects the idea that each of us is like a small universe, a microcosm full of light, individuality, and quiet brilliance. It’s a reminder that even the smallest details can be meaningful, and that there is beauty in the way we all shine in our own unique way.
That concept stayed with me.
When it came time to name my business, nothing felt quite right until I came back to Mikrokosmos. It captured everything I wanted the brand to represent: individuality, beauty in the details, and the idea that something small can still feel significant and special.
